Embroided
Textiles and Jewllery: My
work is inspired by the landscape around
me, wherever I go. I love the effects
of the ever-changing light, the colours
and the textures of the natural environment.
This is reflected in a variety of
machine and hand embroidered pieces.
My
jewellery comes in a comprehensive rante
of colours which is being constantly updated.
It includes chokers, necklaces, pendants,
bracelets, bangles, brooches and earrings.
They are machine embroidered and hand
beaded. Every piece is unique.

The
choir was formed in 1969 when a group of
friends met together informally in one another's
homes to sing madrigals. It now numbers
approximately thirty singers and draws its
membership from a wide area. Known
particularly for its performances of music
from the Renaissance and Baroque periods,
the choir also has a commitment to contemporary
music. Works by local composers have
frequently featured in the choir's programmes
in recent years.
Although,
usually, we only give one concert per year
in Natland (at Christmas), we are very Natland-based
in that we rehearse in the Church every
Thursday evening.

University
of the Third Age
(U3A)
|
We
are an organisation that supports learning,
leisure and social interaction for people
in their "third age" - the time
after the first age of childhood dependence,
and the second age of employment and parental
responsibility. Anybody from any walk of
life who is over 50 and not in full time
employment is welcome to join - no qualifications
are needed, and none are awarded, as we
are not an academic institution. Our emphasis
is on learning for pleasure.
We
are a "self help" organisation
in that all activities are carried out by
volunteer members, using the experience
of their careers or life in general.
We
currently have over 450 members who take
part in a wide range of activities, from
Art to Wine Appreciation. These mainly take
place in interest groups varying in size
from about 6 to 20 members. In addition
there is a program of monthly meetings and
occasional seminars covering topics of general
interest. You can find out more by visiting
our website.
